Climate Change
Ash-cum-Ridley Parish Council recognises it is able to make a positive difference to tackling climate change and it's associated impacts. To address this issue; it formed a Climate Change Working Group in 2021, comprising of Parish Councillors (Cllr Shaun Fishenden and Cllr Melanie Sapiets) and representatives from New Ash Green Village Association (Cameron Clark and Sharon Brine).
Together they have formulated a Climate Change policy which has been adopted by the Parish Council. The Village Association are preparing their own policy to match the Parish Council's.
The Working Group are also compiling an action plan of steps the Parish Council, VA and other stakeholders can take to help work towards the policy objectives. The Action Plan, as of February 2023, continues to be a 'work in progress' and will be a live document.
If you run a local group in the parish who can help take actions to tackle climate change and make a positive difference to the environment, please contact the Parish Clerk on [email protected]. All stakeholders are welcome to join the Working Group.
